Recently, the ISO/TC256 "Pigments, Dyestuffs and Fillers" International Standards Technical Committee officially released documents and announced that the international standard proposal for "Nanodiamonds for Functional Filler Polymer Reinforcement" led by my country has been voted for 3 months ( NWIP ballot), successfully met the project establishment conditions, and obtained the formal project approval. This not only marks the start of the development of the first international standard on nano-diamonds within ISO, but also marks that China has made great progress in the field of nano-diamond preparation and application, and has begun to emerge on the international stage.
As a typical advanced carbon nanomaterial, nanodiamond has an initial particle size of about 3-8 nanometers. Its special detonation synthesis conditions make the particle shape nearly spherical, with abundant functional groups on the surface, and its specific surface area is relatively high compared to single crystal diamond products. improved by an order of magnitude. This product not only has the excellent hardness and grinding characteristics of diamond, but also exhibits excellent nanometer properties in thermal, mechanical and chemical fields, and has been deeply used in many application fields. In recent years, nano-diamond has become a new application direction in the field of polymer reinforcement. Domestic and foreign companies have competed to carry out relevant technical reserves and product development, and actively deploy downstream application markets.
This International Standard was proposed by Henan United Precision Materials Co., Ltd. (referred to as United Precision Company), which is located in Zhengzhou City. Zhengzhou is an important producer of synthetic diamond materials in my country, and has an absolute leading share advantage in the global diamond supply market. Since its establishment in 2003, United Precision has been committed to the research and development and production of nano-diamond and its high-end products. The company has a complete product series: fine diamond powder, fluid abrasives, and soft abrasives. The technology and process level of many products such as diamond powder, diamond polishing liquid and diamond polishing film are at the leading level in the industry. In order to actively implement the "National Standardization Development Outline" to improve the level of internationalization of standards and promote the coordinated development of domestic and international standardization, with the strong support of Zhengzhou Market Supervision Bureau and relevant leaders, the domestic counterpart CNOOC Changzhou Coating Chemical Research Institute Co., Ltd. Under the support and leadership of the company, United Precision has worked closely with the Zhongguancun Huaqing Graphene Industry Technology Innovation Alliance (the convener unit of the ISO/TC256/WG7 working group) to carry out the international standard "Nanodiamond for Polymer Enhancement" since 2020. In the pre-research work of the proposal, a standard development plan was put forward through meticulous work such as domestic and foreign patent analysis, standard comparison, and physical product analysis. Ms. Wang Jing, Chairman of United Precision Co., Ltd., and Dai Shifeng, Secretary-General of Zhongguancun Huaqing Graphene Industry Technology Innovation Alliance, jointly serve as the co-leaders of the project team. It is recommended to give a detailed introduction, and after full communication and communication, it has been initially recognized by international experts. In November 2021, the project proposal was registered as a pre-project ISO/PWI6301 by the ISO/TC256 Secretariat. From April to July 2022, the ISO/TC256 Secretariat initiated the NWIP project approval vote, and the proposal was approved by China, Germany, Israel, and Iran. , South Korea, Portugal and other member states actively support.
The establishment of international standards is the first step of the Long March. In order to ensure the smooth creation of international standards for nano-diamonds and make full use of international and domestic expert resources, Zhongguancun Huaqing Graphene Industry Alliance will simultaneously develop group standards. Through group standards, the wisdom and solutions of domestic experts are actively absorbed and fed back to international standards; through international standards, the wisdom and solutions of international experts are shared with domestic experts in a timely manner, so as to realize the sharing of domestic and international expert resources and information. The publication of this International Standard is planned for 2024.
